Australian Rally in 1958 -opened new doors for Nissan

Nissan sends two cars to an Australian Rally in 1958, the “World’s Cruelest Rally” – an endurance race so tough that it was never held again.

At that time Nissan was struggling to come up with a post-war business model stumbles upon a strategy that would help define its next 50 years: international car racing.
With hopes simply to complete the race, a surprising outcome opened doors to the Japanese automaker never imagined.
